When you think about Mexican food, we're assuming you automatically think about salsa as well. If you're like us, you dip it, pour it, and put it on everything. Here are a few of our favorite salsa combos to try at home!

1. Salsa Fresca

Salsa fresca is traditionally tomato-based, combining flavors from the tomatoes with onion, garlic, and jalapeño, which are all roasted together. White wine vinegar brings acidity, while chipotle peppers in adobo sauce bring the heat. Blend everything together for a smooth finish.

2. Pico de Gallo

Although considered the safer option, pico de gallo is rarely too hot, it's flavorful, and uses 100% fresh. Using fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onion, and a little bit of jalapeño, this salsa is easy to whip up in just a few minutes.

3. Avocado-Tomatillo Salsa Verde

Admittedly our favorite, this salsa verde gives a zesty, tangy flavor to dishes, specifically with protein such as grilled fish or cheesy shrimp quesadillas. Although traditionally made with tomatillos, serrano chiles, garlic, and onion, adding avocado makes the salsa transform into a creamy consistency.

4. Charred Tomato

This blended tomato salsa gets its grilled flavor by first charring the tomatoes in a skillet on medium heat… or you can do it directly on your stove flame. Onion, garlic, serrano chiles, cilantro, and lime round out the flavors, making it the perfect addition to your chips, guacamole and margarita before dinner.
